“It’s Just Like His Great Love!”

I probably couldn’t write appropriately enough to express how grateful I am to our heavenly Father. He is more amazing than we give Him credit for, and I feel ashamed for every time we have ever doubted Him.

On Monday afternoon, while the movers were at our apartment, I spent quite a bit of time on the internet just trying to stay out of the way. About 1PM, I decided once again to look at AHRN.com to see what off-post houses were available for rent in our area. I found a new listing well within our price range that looked wonderful from the outside. There were no interior pictures. I had called the previous week on a house by the same rental owners so I was familiar with them. I showed Russ the house, and he told me to call the owners. I replied by saying “I called them last week about that other house and they said to call us when we got into town.” Thank God I have a persistent husband! He told me to call them anyway and try to set up a time to look at the house. The owner was highly surprised and said, “I just posted that a few minutes ago!” We made an appointment for Saturday.

Monday and Tuesday night we stayed at the home of a VERY gracious couple that goes to our church in TX. We had a wonderfully relaxed time and all of our needs were taken care of.

On Tuesday, Russ was able to finish the very last of his outprocessing, getting a green light to leave first thing Wednesday morning. That solidified our plans to drive all the way to Nashville to stay with a couple, some of Russell’s friends from college. Thus, we knew we would get to our new home city earlier than expected. We decided to call the owners of the home again to see if we could see the house earlier than Saturday. We set an appointment for Thursday. The owner told us that there had been several serious inquiries on the house, but that because we had called first after he listed it, that he would not rent it to anyone else until we had looked at it.

Our drive Wednesday and Thursday was very long and tiring, but we had very few problems and made it into town safely. Wednesday night with our friends was a very sweet time and such a nice place to stay!

We were a tad late for the housing appointment because we forgot about a time change, but the owner was patient and understanding. About an hour later we were signing a lease on our new home!!!!

The specs on the house: 1100 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, small yard, nice neighborhood, shed in the back, carpet and kitchen cupboards that will match my color scheme perfectly, wonderful location in location to the base….the list could go on. I will be posting pictures soon but my camera batteries died, so I wasn’t able to get pictures of everything.

The news just gets better…we can move in a week from today!!!! We will have to stay at an on-post hotel for the next week, and there’s a few bad things about that, but there is internet access so I’m happy!!!

Russ can start inprocessing tomorrow and we can relax for the next week! God is so amazingly good!

From the beginning of this PCS, things just seemed to be going so smoothly. I was thankful to God, but still holding my breath about the rest of the trip, the housing, etc. But when I found the house, I kept thinking, “Ya know? It would be JUST LIKE GOD to give us this house and let us move in before September 1st.” And sure enough, it was just like Him, and just like His wonderful love.

Thank you all for your prayers!
