I found your blog via googling legalism stuff :) I am also coming out of legalism. I feel (and this is just an observation and opinion) that God allowed those things to burst your glass house you built around yourself (that WE “legalists” build) so that you could walk in his grace. You were in bondage to legalism and he wanted to set you free.

When we are broken (legalistic) God wants to set us free…. sometimes to set a broken bone that has healed wrong and becomes crooked it must be broken again and reset. I believe God was resetting your life. I see it as a very positive thing to bring you out of a school that I assume was legalistic (?) and would’ve perpetuated legalism and the relationship was also in the culture of legalistm (?) am I assuming correctly.

If any of these comments are not in line with your heart totally disregard them. I do not want to peg you with certain motivations/outcomes when maybe that’s not even how it goes. These comments are from an observer to your blog (just found it tonight) and someone that has and is dealing with legalism.

Here is a blog I started writing from my first year in bible school…. I grew up legalistic and bible school was even moreso.
