What I learned in January 2015

Linking up today with Emily Freeman over at Chatting at the Sky sharing a little bit of January happenings and what I’ve learned this month. Also, because blogging was on my to-do list for this week and hadn’t really happened, so I figured that this would be as good a reason as any to blog.

_____

1. “They” say that every pregnancy is different. This pregnancy has been slightly like deja vu. Same weird cravings (fish sandwhich from McDonalds, anyone?), same symptoms, same Wednesday week-date. Pregnancies can actually be very similar.

2. On the flip side, in subsequent pregnancies, baby bumps show up much earlier.

Exhibit A:

3. “They” also say that you should never shop while you are hungry. But that’s pretty much impossible when you are pregnant. Therefore, shopping while pregnant is not advisable. Or this will happen:

4. The Snoogle pillow is pretty much the best invention for pregnant-women-who-love-back-sleeping ever. Training myself to sleep on my side isn’t very fun, but this makes it easier. As does an additional pillow behind my back and a toddler bed guard rail behind the pillows so the pillows don’t hang off the edge of the bed. It’s quite the get-up. And I still wake up on my back.

5. Also, you CAN feel your baby move as early as 9 weeks. You will probably doubt your sanity at first, but it can happen!

6. Amazing things happen when you clean out the medicine cabinet. Also, I don’t need any diaper rash cream for the new baby.

7. Flavored Stevia makes drinking water a lot easier!

8. There is such a thing as a 4-person death spiral in figure skating. Also, watching figure skating in person is part breathtaking, part dizzying.

9. The only thing better than figure skating is figure skating paired with Taylor Swift. See Gracie Gold ice skate to Shake It Off.

10. Spoons are apparently magnetic enough to pull a string of Thomas Trains.

So that’s what I learned in January. What did you learn this month?

    I LOVED all of this!

Jan has been a big month here too! I have learned:
    1. Its ok to drop social media and focus on yourself and your family.
    2. Its ok to still be YOU after you have children. Its ok to focus on your marriage and not soley on being a parent.
    3. Sometimes God just wants you to say yes to Him. Its not always what he’ll have for you, but sometimes He just wants your obedience.
    4. And lastly I learned that I am more liekly to drink water from a pretty cup.
