Soooooooo, now that I’ve had my first appointment, and the news has already been slipping out somehow, I feel like I can go ahead and share the it. Russ and I are expecting!!!

[Side note: I am going to endeavor to keep most of the pregnancy-related updates here on our blog, as opposed to Facebook, for this reason: yes, I want my friends and family to be aware of what’s going on in our lives and how the baby is doing, but I also recognized that there are a number of my friends who are in a situation where they are still asking God to open their womb. After six months of trying for this baby, I am aware of how difficult it can be during this “baby boom” to be inundated with posts about all of your pregnant friends and yet being unable to enter that world. Ladies, I will try to be sensitive to you, because I’ve been there too! I hope you will understand if I get a little bit excited from time to time!]

That being said, here’s all the details:

How far along? Almost 7 weeks

Due Date: September 2, 2010

First Ultrasound: beginning of February

Gender: Unknown, and once known will be classified as “FFUO” (For Family Use Only)

Names: Girl name picked out, boy name no clue, also FFUO

How I’m feeling: VERY VERY pregnant! Very very tired all the time, napping all the time…nausea, cramping, feeling fat, yeah…you get the picture…

Morning sickness? Yes. I have been throwing up since before Christmas, usually 2-3 times per week but so far hasn’t been too bad.

Cravings: The first three weeks was craving anything tomatoey…especially Prego and Ragu. I would eat it for breakfast! Now every time I eat tomato stuff I throw up. I guess the baby got tired of it pretty quickly! Taco Bell and chips and salsa is another one. Today it’s hashbrown casserole, which I don’t have the stuff to make. BUMMER! Pretty much everything sounds good from time to time. Also been really thirsty…

Showing yet? Hard to tell, as I gained 20 pounds pre-pregnancy, so I already had a “baby bump.” I have put another 3-7 pounds on since then.

When I found out: the Monday before Christmas…December 21st

Pet names: As Muffin, Shrimpy, Sneech, Bambi, and others have already been taken, and we can’t seem to come up with one that doesn’t seem like a copycat, for now it’s just “Baby”…very original I know! Uncle Kurt is going to call it Rocky until we find out that it’s a girl.

Excited Daddy? Absolutely!

Um I think that’s it…anything else just ask!

CONGRATULATIONS TO US!!!!!!!!!!
