“So Carry On” is the name of my military tribute and a very popular phrase in the military ranks. I have written this song to honor all branches of our military as shown in the verses. My song in not yet published, so few have heard this tribute. I hope you have a chance to listen. I wish I could upload the MP3. If I had an email address, I could easily send the entire song. Song #10 on my CD. Thank you for listening!

My fiancée and I’s favorite is Mr. Red White and Blue by Coffey. He and I are both army and we both are from Indiana and it mentions it in the song so it brings back thoughts of home as well as the other person!
Aprille
I’ve never heard of that one!

The song “If You’re Reading This” By Tim McGraw. Even though it is a heart wrenching song, it helps me get through deployments of my boyfriend. It helps me to stay strong and be appreciative that he is still coming home to me.
Aprille
Can’t believe I missed that one. Such a sad song. 🙁

Thank you, this is exactly what I need. I feel like my husband is gone all the time (truthfully though, he is gone all the time) so much so that when he’s home & he’s still working 16-18 hour days, I feel like he’s still not home. So thanks for the music . It helps on days like today, when he’s home but still not home.

My husband left 2 days ago and it is our first deployment together. I have listened to every song on this list and a few more. I cry happily, I cry out of fear, I cry for missing him, for the unknown and above all for being proud of him and all military personnel. I just hope I can make it through and that these emotions subside for a while. Thank you so much for the list of songs! They are a tremendous help!

Nearly half of my family is either currently in the military or was and is retired. Our troops don’t get the support or recognition they deserve. I’ve been trying to put together a playlist in honor of our soldiers recently, and this was a great help, but I do have a bunch of songs for you to add. Jo Dee Messina “Heaven Needed A Hero”, Trace Adkins “Arlington”, Gary Allan “Tough Little Boys”, Greenday “21 Guns”, Nickelback “When We All Stand Together”, 12 Stones “We Are One”, Thousand Foot Krutch “We Are”, Alan Parsons Project “Brother Up In Heaven”, Poets Of The Fall “War”, Chely Wright “Bumper Of My S.U.V.”, The Charlie Daniels Band “Still In Saigon”, Savannah Outen & Jake Coco “Safe And Sound”, Billy Ray Cyrus “Some Gave All”.

I am part of a family readiness group for my husbands command and we are putting together a welcome home video. I am looking for upbeat happy welcome home songs and it is soo hard! Most military welcome home songs are slow or sad. Any suggestions?? The only one I have is Welcome Home you by Brain Litrell. ( I want something different than Home by Daughtry)
Aprille
For my husband’s homecoming I used After All by Cher and Peter Cetera. It’s still slow but positive.
