We officially have a toddler in our house – again. Little Brother turned 13 months old a few days ago. His baby year went by so quickly, I’m scrambling to catch up! Having a toddler again is a really joyous experience. I think the age of 12-18 months was one of my sweetest times with … [Read more…]
Hi Baby. You don’t really understand, but today is your FIRST BIRTHDAY. We made it! And of course, we are celebrating in style by waking up at 5 AM! Little Brother, you have taught me so much this year. This past year has radically transformed the way I view the world, and I owe that … [Read more…]
I am so excited to finally be able to share pictures of Little Brother’s baby nursery with all of you!! I have been working at his room off and on since pretty early on. As with Ezra, I got a very strong nesting instinct as soon as I entered the second trimester. And as I … [Read more…]
This pregnancy is definitely going by more quickly than Ezra’s did. Things are continuing to go very smoothly. As far as symptoms, I’m dealing with mild Braxton Hicks and round ligament pain, headaches every few days, and the urge to eat everything, all the time. I recently said this about food and pregnancy: 1) My … [Read more…]
‘Twas the Sunday before Christmas and we went to the park as a family, where we gave Ezra a sign and asked him to read it. He sounded out the first word pretty easily. Then, we told him the second word and sat down to have a talk about what the words meant. He understood … [Read more…]
This is my third Mother’s Day. My first Mother’s Day, I celebrated a life in the arms of Jesus, and mourned the loss of our first little one.
I ran out of milk sometime last week. Well, actually, I didn’t run out…it expired, and I didn’t have any left to replace it. Thus begins the madness that is also known as “the last 5 days of my life.” I shall begin with Thursday morning’s status update: FRG calls – almost done. Photos ordered- … [Read more…]
“Let labor begin on it’s own…” (Lamaze Healthy Birth Practice #1) On the evening of September 6, 2010, this was the one thing I was trying to repeat over and over to myself. I was almost 41 weeks pregnant. In the months leading up to Ezra’s birth, I had done of lot of research into … [Read more…]
My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. (Psalm … [Read more…]
Today Ezra is 4 weeks old! He has grown immensely in the last month and is changing and acting more grown up every day…it’s astonishing! It took him about 2 1/2 weeks, but he finally figured out how to nurse! Let me say that was a very rough process! I came very close to giving … [Read more…]
It was very important to both Russ and I that our child’s name be a name that not only did we both like, but also something that had significance to us, and a significance that we could pass on to our child. A name with meaning.
Ezra was born September 7th, 10:32 PM. He weighed 9 lbs 13 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. When I ended up delivering Ezra by cesarean (that is a long story in itself which I will post about later), it was immensely difficult. But if I had known then what my recovery would be … [Read more…]
Well, it seems that Squirt has decided to surprise everyone and stay in mommy’s tummy a bit longer! We really thought we would have our baby by now, but I guess Squirt wants to be a September baby. Baby is growing steadily and doing just fine…Daddy and Mommy are a bit on the ansy side! … [Read more…]
My baby is now “full-term”…which means I’m pretty much living in “any day now” mode. I think that the last month of pregnancy is definitely the most difficult, especially in this heat! I try not to think about the time I have left and just try to focus on taking one day at a time. … [Read more…]
