{More} creative faith and Bible journaling resources

May 16, 2018 by Aprille 1 Comment

It’s been over two years since I first talked about Bible journaling here on the blog. I haven’t spent nearly as much time on this as I would like, but I wanted to give a small update, share some things I’ve colored and created, and share some great resources I have found. Bible journaling is … [Read more…]

When the Internet is an ugly place to be: surviving the election aftermath

November 11, 2016 by Aprille 4 Comments

My eyes were burning. My heart was pounding. It was 2:00 AM, and I was wired from the internet frenzy that was election night. I had multiple Twitter feeds open in multiple tabs. The tabs contained two right-wing conservative white males, a Catholic blogger who lived in California, a pro-LGBT outspoken feminist “evangelical,” and a … [Read more…]

Bible Journaling: Art Therapy for my Bible Scars

January 2, 2016 by Aprille 17 Comments

In the bottom of my nightstand drawer sits my Bible. It is every bit the cliche of the “Bible collecting dust tucked away somewhere” that I always heard preached about. In all of the writing I’ve done here on my blog about faith, I haven’t talked much about it: the Word…tucked away in the bottom of … [Read more…]

Pregnancy Art Therapy Project: Affirmations Coloring Pages

October 18, 2015 by Aprille 5 Comments

When I was pregnant with Ezra, I bought two adult coloring books (of butterflies and flowers) to color in the last few weeks of his pregnancy. They sat, unused, for nearly 4 years in our game cupboard, when all of the sudden, when watching him color, I remembered that I had them. I got them … [Read more…]

Birth Art Therapy Project: Magazine Scrap Birth Affirmations Collages

October 8, 2015 by Aprille 3 Comments

Using Our Birthing From Within Keepsake Journal really opened up my mind to the idea of birth art therapy. I consider writing and music to be my primary art forms, and haven’t ever much been a fan of more traditional “art” – because I simply don’t find myself to be that good at it. Besides … [Read more…]

40 Weeks Pregnancy Bumpdate

August 27, 2015 by Aprille 7 Comments

I’ve officially made it to (and past) my due date. I’m thrilled, honestly.  This has been a great pregnancy. Such a night and day difference from Ezra’s pregnancy. I look back over my pregnancy photos (which there have been many…not sorry at all!), and see how much I’ve accomplished. Stuff like climbing to the top … [Read more…]

31 Weeks Bumpdate!

June 24, 2015 by Aprille 4 Comments

How are you feeling?!?! The question comes frequently. And at 31 weeks now, I’m slightly surprised when I hear myself say, “Pretty good!”  On Sunday, when someone asked me, “So are you ready to have that baby? Are you ready for it to be over?” again, I was surprised that my immediate answer wasn’t to … [Read more…]
